Jargon Busting for Easy Raw Feeding!

Raw feeding can be a simple as pour and serve. Some minces sold at All Raw like the Just Natural range don't even have to be defrosted! Here is a list of some Raw feeding jargon that may have confused you.

"80/10/10 Mince"

This refers to 80% meat, 10% bone, 10% organ. These are roughly the ratios you would find in any animal. For example, if your dog were to go out and catch a whole rabbit that is what they would be eating. 80/10/10 is what your dog or cat requires for a balanced meal. It's as simple as that!

"Offal"  Organs! Lung, spleen, liver.

Animal intestines! Ugh... I know! They are full of natural probiotics, and the nutrients absorbed by the animal. Its like a strong vitamin supplement! (not considered offal, it is meat.)

It is found in heart meat and darker meats, cats must have it in their diet.

"Complete mince"

This may mean it is an 80/10/10 mince or some companies like Nature's Menu will call 80% meat, 10% bone, 10% veg a complete mince. However dog's do need organ in their diet so watch out for that one! Though skipping organ is fine occasionally. If you're not sure just check the back to see what's in it.

"Complementary meal"

Complementary means just what you'd think, that these minces may not have the 80/10/10 ratios so they are not suitable for every day feeding but complement your dog's diet by providing more variation.

For example plain tripe is complementary as it is 100% meat (no bone or organ) but is vital to maintaining good gut health for your dog (feed at least 2x per week!).

"Allergies/ intolerances"

Running eyes, runny poo itchy skin, red bumps much like human allergies. If your dog suffers from any of these stick to the Itchy Skin/ Sensitive Tummy Collection. There are also many medicinal products that can really help. Raw can really help! Ask in store today for advice.
